What: LEAD Into Innovation is an entrepreneurial and innovation leadership program for youth run by the Leacock Foundation in partnership with the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto. Every week, LEAD participants get together in their respective communities and work through a hands-on curriculum focused on entrepreneurialism, innovation, creativity, teamwork, leadership, and communication.
Where: In our Toronto partner communities (St. James Town, Scarborough, and the Keele/Finch community).
When: Saturday mornings from October to May
Who: Youth in Grades 7, 8 and 9 in our Toronto community partner schools, facilitated by Ontario certified teachers and high school volunteers
Why? In our constantly evolving, globalized world, it is becoming more and more apparent that strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills are valuable, employable, and practical. Being innovative and understanding how to move ideas forward are important for young people, not only in terms of their future careers and employability, but also for experiencing success in their academics, at school, and with their peers in their communities.
