What: LEAD Through TRAILS supports outdoor, experiential education and leadership skills for youth. Our longest running leadership program, TRAILS facilitates outdoor day trips for inner-city youth to experience nature, learn about conservation, hike, canoe, build shelters and fires, and participate in team building and leadership activities through hands-on learning.
Where: Toronto and Region Conservation Authority sites
When: September to May for various day trips
Who: Grade 5 and 6 students from our Toronto partner communities as well as high school volunteers from our Independent Toronto school partners.
Why? By becoming an effective eco-leader at TRAILS, young people see themselves as agents of change, building the confidence needed to work collaboratively as part of team, and utilize their learning in the classroom and in their community.
