What: Fee-free, week-long, overnight summer camp experiences for youth from our underserved Toronto partner communities. Campers meet young people from other Toronto communities and participate in leadership, team building, and conservation activities including canoeing, high ropes courses, hiking, camping, shelter-building, sports, arts and crafts, and camp fires.
Where: Albion Hills Conservation Area, through our partners at the TRCA.
When: The month of July. Each camp runs for one week.
Who: Students from our Toronto partner communities in Grade 5 through to Grade 12. Each camp facilitates a different age group with youth from all 4 of our partner communities coming together to participate.
Why? Research shows that participation in after-school and summer programming that offer youth development and outdoor, experiential activities as well as educational experiences, can lead to significant gains in overall academic outcomes.
