REACH March Break Booster Camp – Gr. 3 Literacy and Numeracy Camp

This March Break, Leacock held a booster literacy and numeracy program for 19 grade 3 students at Rose Avenue Public School. The purpose of the camp was to help students gain foundational skills in reading, writing and math as they prepare to write the provincial EQAO tests this spring. The program was designed to have 80 minutes of literacy and 80 minutes of math lessons each day. The children spent the afternoons participating in various experiential learning activities. One of the highlights for everyone was when our very own Judy MacLellan invited the students to her curling club to try out the sport. The students enjoyed every minute of it! Other highlights of the week included a trip to the Book Bank, attending a science presentation at the local library and playing group games outdoors.
