Service Trips

Since 2004, and every year following, a group of senior students from Toronto’s Branksome Hall School and faculty travel to South Africa. The Branksome Hall students help at the Queenstown Get Ahead Project School (QGAP), where they spend time running a number of projects with the students and staff.

Branksome Hall students help support different classrooms, lead “sister circles” with high school Get Ahead College students of the same age, and experience day-to-day life in the community at Get Ahead. While the students are busy partaking in leadership activities, the Branksome Hall teachers are working alongside the South African teachers sharing curriculum initiatives and encouraging each other in their own teaching needs.

This trip is now in its 12th successful year running and has had irreversible effects on many of the Branksome Hall and Get Ahead students, opening their eyes up to the needs of the world and how they individually can make a difference in the lives of others.
